Stunning, sustainable design for your home
RESIDENTIAL landscape DESIGN services
how to create your own, naturally beautiful, eco-friendly, garden
In todays busy world your home is your sanctuary, a place of escape and relaxation, a place to refuel and refresh, a place of safety and enjoyment.
Your garden can contribute enormously to enriching your living environment and, designed well, will enhance your connection with the natural world, its beauty and all its restorative properties.
If you are thinking of creating a new garden, or renovating your existing one, however, there is much to consider before you start, such as your budget, the constraints of your site, style, choice of materials and suitable plants, as well as your practical and aesthetic needs.
If you also want to create an eco-friendly garden, one that is sustainable, contributes to your health and wellbeing and that of the wider natural environment, there is even more to think about.
Below is a range of design options tailored to make it easy and exciting for you to create a naturally beautiful, eco-friendly and sustainable garden, large or small. One that meets all your practical and aesthetic requirements, one that becomes your own piece of “nature by design”.
1. on-site garden design
If you have a small area of your garden you are wanting to develop, or you would like a quick overview of how you could transform your yard into a beautiful, sustainable landscape, then this service is for you.
I will come to your place and spend up to 2 hours with you discussing design options and will draw up possible design solutions, where appropriate.
Then back to the office to finish off the design and produce a plan with sufficient detail for you to use for pricing from a landscape contractor, or doing the work yourself.
FEES: From $500.00 plus G.S.T
2. full landscape design
The full landscape design service will provide you with all the detail you need to create a complete garden and landscape for your property, from concepts through to working drawings.
After a free, in-depth, phone consultation to identify your requirements, I will visit you at your place to develop a detailed brief and take stock of your properties challenges and potential.
I will then prepare a written fee proposal for you and, if you decide to proceed, I will prepare initial design ideas for your consideration.
Based on your feedback I will make changes, prepare a final concept plan and associated working drawings. I will also liaise with other specialists - planners, engineer, geotech, ecologists as required.
FEES: An itemised fee proposal will be prepared prior to starting, detailing the steps and design drawings you will need to complete your project successfully. Enquiries welcome.
Even the most visual of us can have difficulty imagining what a 2d design plan will look like in 3d reality.
A cost effective, computer generated 3D walkthrough will enable you to visualise the proposed design in 3 dimensions as you “ walk” through it and “virtually: smell the roses!
FEES: From $400 plus G.S.T.
4. engaging a landscape CONTRACTOR
Once your landscape design is complete, the next step (if you are not doing the work yourself) is to engage a landscape contractor.
I can help you with this process - from preparing specifications and arranging quotations from reputable landscape contractors, to advising you on how to get a good quality job for a reasonable price price, done in an environmentally friendly way.
During the construction process, I can be on hand to answer any questions the contractor may have, make design changes, source materials and plants and keep an eye on the work to ensure your landscape is delivered according to your original vision.
FEES: Based on your requirements I will supply you with a detailed fee proposal before we start, or work with you on an hourly basis.
commercial landscape design services
commercial project landscaping can be cost effective and eco-friendly
If you have a commercial landscape project that needs landscape design input, I can assist you, be it subdivision design, apartment and body corporate landscapes, civic design or childrens playgrounds or purpose built outdoor entertainment venues.
1. subdivision landscape design
Developing a subdivision, be it 2 lots to 200, requires consideration of the green spaces within it.
I can assist you with input into the design of parks, wetlands, raingardens, street trees and individual lots and prepare detailed hard and soft landscape plans for Resource and Building Consent applications.
2. apartment landscape design
Apartments, by their nature, have smaller areas for outdoor living.
It is therefore doubly important that they are carefully considered as part of the overall design development, be they communal areas, individual courtyards or roof top gardens.
My services include landscape concept design and visualisations, through to detailed design for Resource and Building Consent applications.
3. playground design
Play grounds in parks, day care centers and schools can be wonderfully creative learning and entertaining spaces for children.
Their design also requires careful adherence to the many playground safety rules, to ensure maximum enjoyment for their users. I will work with you to produce initial design concepts, to meet your budget, through to working drawings and Council plans.
4. bodycorporate landscape design
Many of us now live in Bodycorporate arrangements, sharing our public spaces.
It is important that they are designed well for the use of a wide range of resident requirements and are cost effective in their construction and ongoing maintenance.
My services for Bodycorporates include concept and planting design and long term maintenance plans, an important requirement for effective Bodycorporate goverance.
I also have experience with, and can assist in, the redesign of Bodycorporate landscapes that have been affected by leaky building remediation work.
5. outdoor entertainment venues
Wedding facilities, cafe and restaurant courtyards and whatever else you may choose to imagine, I will work with you to design a landscape space suited to its purpose.
